This idea has been floating around my head for the last year. The birds reference a tapestry that hung as a centerpiece in my childhood living room for over 30 years. My mom bought the tapestry at the Michigan City mall in 1978, before my parents ever met. I learned to read under the tapestry, bonded with my brother as we unlocked the Konami Code, and blew out more birthday candles than I can count. It’s woven into our family photo albums like a favorite pet.

The word souvenir comes from the French word for ‘remembrance’ or ‘memory’. This print is a little slice of home.
